Message of the Organizers

Update to the AIAI Community from the Organisers

Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of the 21st AIAI (Artificial Intelligence Applications and Innovations) 2025 Organizing and Scientific Committee, it is a real honor and pleasure to welcome all Artificial Intelligence scholars who are looking for a well-established and prestigious forum to communicate and disseminate the innovative advances of their research. It is a fact that AI is continuously digging its way in a vast number of diverse scientific domains. AIAI aims to provide a forum for delegates from both academia and industry, who wish to share pioneer ideas, to get to know each other better and to present their research. Moreover, it aims to offer a deep glimpse into the future and to examine important AI ethical aspects.

The Artificial Intelligence Applications and Innovations (AIAI) Conference has been held continuously since 2005, under the auspices of the IFIP WG12.5. Through the years, it has evolved to a well-respected and mature event, under the technical and scientific co-sponsorship of the AIAI community. This community comprises of an extended Group of leading scientists, not only from Europe but from all over the globe.

The h-index of the AIAI event is as high as 39. This proves the novelty and quality of the presented-published research and its important contribution to the promotion of scientific ideas, algorithms and methods, globally. The fact that the conference Springer Proceedings, have been downloaded more than 2,800,000 times so far, supports the robust impact of the event among the scholars of AI internationally.

The covid-19 problem is in remission because it has been successfully dealt with, on a global scale. As a matter of fact, so far there are no Covid-19 traveling restrictions both in Europe and globally. This fact calls for the organization of a successful hybrid event. This will enable colleagues to attend the21st AIAI 2025 on site whereas the ones who cannot travel to attend are offered the capacity to present remotely.

The venue of the 21st AIAI 2025, will be the premises of the Technical University of Cyprus, in the city of Limassol. The conference participants who will attend live, will have the chance to visit the beautiful, amazing and breath-taking island of Cyprus. However, the ones that might not be able to travel, or for any reason they wish to present from home, will be given the opportunity to present remotely.

Most of all we wish to give the chance to all colleagues to disseminate their achievements in the AI domain to the AIAI community.

Nevertheless, the AIAI team has extended experience in the long-distance conference organizations. We should mention that the 2020 and 2021 AIAI conferences were broadcasted remotely due to Covid restrictions, whereas the 2022, 2023 and 2024 events were organized in a hybrid mode, all of them with great success.

After 20 years of holding AIAI, strong links have been developed with the members of our scientific community. Regarding the 21st AIAI 2025 conference, it is going to be held in Cyprus, one of the most iconic and gorgeous Mediterranean islands, with direct airplane connections to all over Europe. Moreover, the amazing atmosphere and the excellent academic environment of the Technical University of Cyprus, guarantees a perfect venue for all AI scientists

The district of Limassol has a population of 235,000 inhabitants. Situated on the southern coast of Cyprus, Limassol is the second-largest town on the island. It has an abundance of historical locations nearby as well as fabulous beaches including the seven-mile-long seafront plus there’s a bustling harbor where you can relax and watch the luxury yachts pass by. In the heart of Limassol’s historic district, the imposing Limassol Castle stands as a testament to the city’s rich past. Originally built during the Byzantine era and later fortified by the Crusaders, the castle now houses the Cyprus Medieval Museum, showcasing medieval artifacts. Adjacent to the castle lies the charming Old Town, a labyrinth of narrow streets and traditional houses adorned with colorful bougainvillea.

We are certain that once more, not only we will enjoy the hospitality of the beautiful island on Cyprus, but we will also be able to exchange ideas, to get to know each other better, and to interact by presenting our research achievements.

Cordially,

The 21th AIAI 2025 Chairs
